The Embassy of Sweden in Abuja has announced an open Logo Design Competition to commemorate 65 years of diplomatic relations between Sweden and Nigeria, offering a cash prize of ₦650,000 to the winning entry.

The competition is open to artists, designers, and creative professionals from both Sweden and Nigeria, and is part of activities lined up for the 2026 anniversary celebration. The selected logo will serve as the official visual identity for the Sweden–Nigeria 65th anniversary and will be used across events, publications, and digital platforms throughout the year.

Theme and Design Focus

Entries are expected to align with the anniversary theme:

“Sweden and Nigeria at 65 – Building Tomorrow Today.”

Designs should reflect the long-standing relationship between both countries while also presenting a forward-looking perspective. Organisers stated that submissions must clearly incorporate:

  • The number “65”

  • The wording “Sweden–Nigeria” or “Sweden and Nigeria”

Designers are encouraged to create concepts that work across different formats, including official print materials, digital platforms, and event branding.

Technical Requirements

Submitted logos must be:

  • Provided in both colour and black-and-white versions

  • Designed in a scalable vector format

  • Suitable for high-quality reproduction in print and digital use

Accepted file formats include PDF, PNG, or high-resolution JPEG.

How to Submit

Interested participants are required to submit their entries by 31 January 2026.

All submissions should be sent via email to:

event.abuja@gov.se

Email subject line:
“Logo Design Competition: Sweden-Nigeria at 65”

Each submission must include the following:

  • Logo files, named using the format: FullName_Country (example: AishaOkafor_Nigeria.pdf)

  • A signed Consent and Copyright Agreement

  • A short creator profile (maximum of 150 words), including an optional description explaining the design concept

Only entries that fully meet the submission guidelines will be considered.

Selection and Jury Process

The winning logo will be selected by a jury made up of representatives from:

  • The Embassy of Sweden in Abuja

  • The Swedish Trade and Invest Council (Business Sweden) Office in Lagos

  • Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Youth Development

The judging process will focus on creativity, relevance to the theme, clarity of concept, and adaptability across platforms.

Prize and Recognition

The overall winner will receive a cash prize of ₦650,000, payable by invoice or provided in kind. In addition to the prize, selected designs will be featured on the official social media platforms of the Swedish Embassy and related partners, offering creators increased visibility and recognition.

The winner is scheduled to be announced on 20 February 2026.

Opportunity for Creative Professionals

The competition offers a platform for designers to contribute to a significant diplomatic milestone while gaining international exposure. Artists and creatives with an interest in branding, visual storytelling, and cultural collaboration are encouraged to participate.

Submissions close at the end of January, and early entry is advised to allow time for documentation and compliance with the guidelines.
