The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Ekpoma District Society, has invited Mudiame University, Irrua, to participate in the 9th ICAN Southern Zonal Accountants’ Conference, scheduled to hold in Auchi, Edo State, from August 11 to 14, 2026.
The invitation was presented during a courtesy visit by an ICAN delegation to the university, where members met with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Emmanuel Aluyor, and other members of the university management.
The delegation comprised Mr. Frank Orumwense, ACA; Mrs. Akinfolerin Bolanle Susan, FCA; Mr. Isidahomen Vincent; Mrs. Awe Olanike; and Dr. Isaac E. Ogbeifun, FCA.
During the visit, the delegation formally invited the university to participate in the conference, which is themed “Leveraging Innovation and Risk-Taking for Sustainable Economic Growth: The Chartered Accountants’ Perspective.”
The annual gathering is expected to attract more than 1,500 chartered accountants, academics, business executives, policymakers and public sector leaders from across southern Nigeria and beyond.
Discussions at the conference will centre on innovation, economic resilience, professional ethics, financial leadership and the role of chartered accountants in driving sustainable national development.
Professor Aluyor appreciated the delegation for the invitation, noting that collaborations between universities and professional organisations create valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange, research partnerships and student development.
He reaffirmed Mudiame University’s commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen professional education and prepare graduates for leadership in the public and private sectors.
The courtesy visit further highlighted the growing relationship between Mudiame University and ICAN as both institutions seek to promote academic excellence, professional competence and sustainable national development.
