Applicants who took part in the 2026 recruitment exercise conducted by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) should begin preparing for the next phase, as the Board is finalising arrangements to release the shortlist of successful candidates.

Checks on the official recruitment platform show that backend work is currently ongoing, indicating that the shortlist for physical screening and documentation is expected to be published soon. This update mainly concerns candidates who completed the Computer-Based Test (CBT) stage.

Applicants tracking multiple federal programmes may also want to see the latest update on outstanding N-Power stipend payments as released by the Federal Government.

What Stage Is the CDCFIB Recruitment Now?

The CDCFIB recruitment follows a step-by-step process. With the CBT stage concluded, attention has shifted to shortlisting candidates who will proceed to physical screening, document checks and medical examinations.

Only applicants who met the required cut-off marks and complied with all application guidelines will be shortlisted for this stage.

Similar screening steps are also used in other federal recruitment exercises, including programmes such as current federal youth empowerment initiatives.

What the CDCFIB Shortlist Covers

Candidates selected will be invited for the following assessments:

Physical Screening

Applicants will be checked for height, chest measurement and overall physical fitness in line with service requirements.

Document Verification

Shortlisted candidates must present original copies of their credentials, including educational certificates, birth certificate or declaration of age, local government identification and other relevant documents.

Medical Examination

Medical tests will be conducted to confirm that candidates are physically and medically fit for service across the CDCFIB agencies.

Failure to pass any of these stages may result in disqualification.

Has the CDCFIB Shortlist Been Released?

As of today, the shortlist has not yet been officially released, but reliable indications show that it will be uploaded shortly.

Applicants are advised to remain calm and avoid misinformation, especially messages circulating on social media claiming the shortlist is already out.

How to Check CDCFIB Recruitment Shortlist

Once the shortlist is published, candidates can confirm their status through the official recruitment portal:

Steps to follow:

  1. Visit the CDCFIB recruitment website

  2. Log in using your application details

  3. Check for screening or shortlist notifications

  4. Download and print your invitation letter if selected

Only information on the official portal should be trusted.

What Shortlisted Candidates Should Do Next

Candidates whose names appear on the shortlist should begin preparations immediately by:

  • Printing their screening invitation letter

  • Organising original documents for verification

  • Confirming their screening venue and date

  • Arriving early at the screening location

Late arrival or missing documents may lead to automatic disqualification.

Important Notice to All Applicants

The CDCFIB has repeatedly warned applicants against fraud. No payments are required at any stage of the recruitment process.

Applicants should:

  • Ignore anyone asking for money to “assist” with recruitment

  • Rely strictly on CDCFIB’s official website for updates

  • Avoid agents or unofficial WhatsApp groups

Recruitment into the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Correctional Service, Federal Fire Service and Nigeria Immigration Service is strictly based on merit.

Closing Message to Applicants

Candidates who passed the CBT stage should stay alert and ready. The release of the CDCFIB shortlist is expected soon, and timely action will be required once screening details are published.
